The Marcus King Trio will head back out on the road for a run of socially-distanced concerts in the South in October. Each of the five newly-announced shows by the stripped-down iteration of The Marcus King Band—featuring King on guitar and vocals, Jack Ryan on drums, and Stephen Campbell on bass—will feature support from Early James.

The run will kick off on October 23rd with a drive-in show at The Drive at Winston-Salem Fairgrounds in Winston Salem, NC. A “pod”-style outdoor show at North Charleston, SC’s The Bend will follow on October 25th. From there, the trio will head to Waynesville, NC for a drive-in performance at Smoky Mountain Event Center. Then the band will make their way to Alabama for a “pod”-style performance at Birmingham’s Avondale Brewing Company on October 28th and a 50% capacity show at Mobile’s Soul Kitchen on Halloween night, October 31st.
Marcus King and company have been staying busy despite the cancellation of their typically grueling touring schedule due to the ongoing pandemic. In August, King hosted his Four of a Kind weekly streaming series featuring special guests and exciting nightly themes. The trio then headed out on an initial run of socially-distanced outdoor shows in September. Back before the pandemic shook up everyone’s plans for 2020, King also released his debut solo album, El Dorado.
