My Morning Jacket put a 7-inch single featuring the new song “Bring The Power Back Home” up for pre-order today to coincide with National Voter Registration Day. Proceeds from the release, which includes an acoustic version of the song as the B-side, will go towards the Stacey Abrams-founded voter participation advocacy group, Fair Fight.
Those who purchase the vinyl will receive a digital MP3 download of the tracks via email. “‘Bring The Power Back Home’ is about taking control of your own destiny,” stated MMJ frontman Jim James, “reclaiming one’s personal power in an effort to bring positive change back to our lives, even if it seems that the good in the world is slipping out of our grasp.
