Swedish garage rockers The Hives have announced a new live album, Live At Third Man Records. Recorded straight to acetate at Jack White‘s Third Man Records last year, the album marks The Hives’ first live album to date.
While celebrating a string of sold-out U.S. shows last year, The Hives rolled into Nashville, TN on May 16th for an intimate show in “The Blue Room” at Third Man Records. After warming up with “Go Right Ahead”, off the band’s 2012 Lex Hives album, The Hives kicked off a 10-song, career-spanning setlist.
They started the show with “Come On!”, also off the Lex Hives album, before “Walk Idiot Walk” and “Main Offender” followed. Side-A of the direct-to-acetate recording closes with yet another Lex Hives track, “My Time Is Coming”. Side-B begins with one of the band’s newer singles, “I’m Alive”, before bringing it way back to 2000 with their most popular song, Veni Vidi Vicious‘ “Hate To Say I Told You So”. They then closed out the set with “Tick Tick Boom”, off 2007’s The Black And White Album, before an encore of “Take Back the Toys” and “Return the Favour”.
In support of the forthcoming album, The Hives released “Hate To Say I Told You So”, recorded live at Third Man Records.
