Foo Fighters were among the acts who performed for the Save Our Stages Festival on Saturday, #SOSFest’s second of three days. Dave Grohl and company went mostly unplugged for a five-song, 30-minute set filmed at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, California on Thursday.
The #SOSFest features 30+ artists performing at venues across the country for a livestream special put together by YouTube Music and the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA). Dave Matthews, Phoebe Bridgers, The Roots, Brittany Howard and Foo Fighters are some of the acts bringing attention to the plight of independent venues struggling during the pandemic and raising funds and awareness for the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund.
Foo Fighters started by discussing each of the members’ memories of shows at The Troubadour. “Skin & Bones” served as the opener and was followed by “My Hero,” which Grohl dedicated to fellow Foo Fighter Pat Smear. “These Days” came next along with “Times Like These.” Dave Grohl went solo for the “Everlong” that closed the portion of the set aired during Saturday’s #SOSFest. Foo Fighters also recorded a version of “Learn To Fly” that was brodcast on Thursday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.
