124

John Oates is featured on an episode of Osiris Media podcast Past, Present, Future, Live! that kicks off its second season. The co-founding member of Daryl Hall & John Oates, aka Hall & Oates, discusses a variety of topics with host RJ Bee and then offers performances of four songs.

Oates recalled a number of the artists that influenced him towards the beginning of the episode. John grew up in Philadelphia and explained the huge role local radio had on his career. He then tells the story of meeting Daryl Hall and how it took the pair some time to find the chemistry that would make them one of the best-selling acts of 1980s.

John Oates went on to speak about the love of his blues and his recently released Live In Nashville album. Oates ends the episode by performing Mississippi John Hurt’s “My Creole Belle” and “Spike Driver Blues” as well as the early Hall & Oates gem “Had I Known You Better Then” and a cover of Percy Mayfield’s “Please Send Me Someone To Love.”

Nicole Atkins, Hiss Golden Messenger (MC Taylor) and Larkin Poe are among other artists featured in upcoming episodes of Past, Present, Future, Live!.
