Spotify Launches New ‘Lyrics Search’ Feature

Fans who listen to music via Spotify‘s mobile and desktop apps will now be able to find a song from the deep database of audio by typing in the lyrics.

The major music, video, and podcast streaming platform has introduced a new “Lyrics Search” feature so fans who may not know the specific title or artist of a given song now might be able to find it by entering the lyrics. The feature isn’t without subtle flaws, as users are more likely to find their desired match by typing the lyrics into the main search rather than giving the software audio-based voice commands.

Meanwhile, Spotify software developers have also reportedly been testing a karaoke feature where users would be able to listen to a song with the ability to control the volume of the vocal audio. The potential feature would allow that user to step in and sing along to their favorite tune without having to compete with the singer in the recording.
