Umphrey’s McGee Wraps Atlanta Motor Speedway Drive-In Run With “Eruption” Finale [Video]

Umphrey’s McGee returned to action on Saturday for their second show as part of a two-night drive-in run at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Atlanta, GA.

After a successful first night of their weekend raceway residency on Friday, the band kicked Saturday’s show off with “There’s No Crying In Mexico”, which eventually moved right into “Rocker Part 2”. The first half of the night continued with “Draconian”, “All In Time”, “Mulche’s Odyssey”, and the two-song combination of “Night Nurse” into “Wife Soup” to send fans into the set break.

The band returned to the stage with a high-energy “40s Theme” led by guitarist Jake Cinninger. “Triple Wide” and “Hajimemashite” then followed, and the band continued the second set with another two-song combination in “Phil’s Farm” into a cover of “I Heard It Through the Grapevine”. The Saturday night rock show continued with peformances of “Glory”, “Phil’s Farm”, and “Higgins” before the band wrapped set two with “Cemetary Walk II”.

For the encore, the band delivered another fitting tribute to late guitar hero Eddie Van Halen with a cover of “Eruption”, which eventually moved into the completion of “All In Time” to end the night.

Next up for Umphrey’s is a duet performance from Brendan Bayliss and Jake Cinninger at the Schaumburg Boomers’ minor league baseball complex in Schaumburg, IL scheduled for this Friday, October 16th. Click here for ticket and event info.
