On Tuesday, Umphrey’s McGee shared footage of Brendan Bayliss and Jake Cinninger performing an acoustic pairing of “Remind Me” and “In The Kitchen”. The clip came from the August 16th edition of Bayliss’ Wine Not quarantine performance program.
The release of the video comes ahead of the guitarists’ joint acoustic drive-in show at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg, IL on October 16th. In addition to the two songs, the video also features the inception of the band’s latest t-shirt stemming from Cinninger’s off-the-cuff remark, “So little hits, too much time.”

Following a bit of playful banter—and t-shirt ideas—Cinninger kicks into the riff of “Remind Me”. Since debuting in 2015, the song has seen regular rotation in the band’s catalog, but never in this acoustic format with only two musicians. Even compared to Bayliss’ typical Wine Not videos, this joint performance with the band’s lead guitarist lends another layer of texture to the band’s well-known songs.
Between “Remind Me” and “In The Kitchen” comes a minor instrumental breakdown, but certainly nothing that could be construed as a jam. Soon enough, Bayliss drops into the songs opening lyrics before playfully changing the words to, “I was lost of opinions and I wanted to know/if I’ll have a mustache tomorrow.” These acoustic sessions show the building blocks of the song in concise showings, with this two-song pairing coming in at just over seven minutes (including banter). Then, just as they wrap up the second song, Jake throws in a little “Thunderstruck” tease just to show he hasn’t lost his sense of humor.
