Brittany Howard, Phoebe Bridgers, Marcus King & More Earn 2021 Grammy Nominations

Brittany Howard, Phoebe Bridgers and Marcus King are among the artists who earned 2021 Grammy Award nominations. The winners will be revealed at The 63rd Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday, January 31.

Brittany Howard’s “Stay High” is up for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song, while “Short And Sweet” is nominated for Best American Roots Performance and “Goat Head” goes for Best R&B Performance. Additionally, the Alabama Shakes frontwoman’s debut solo album, Jaime, scored nominations for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical).

Phoebe Bridgers earned nominations for Best New Artist, Best Rock Performance (“Kyoto”), Best Alternative Album (Punisher) and Best Rock Song (“Kyoto”). Marcus King’s debut solo album, El Dorado, was nominated for Best Americana Album and Billy Strings scored a Best Bluegrass Album nomination for Home.

Album Of The Year Nominees are Jhené Aiko’s Chilombo, Black Pumas’ Black Pumas (Deluxe Edition), Coldplay’s Everyday Life, Jacob Collier’s Djesse Vol. 3, HAIM’s Women In Music Pt. III, Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia, Taylor Swift’s folklore and Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Burning. Beyoncé leads the pack with a total of nine nominations. Queen Bey’s “Black Parade” is up against Black Pumas’ “Colors,” DaBaby featuring Roddy Ricch’s “Rockstar,” Doja Cat’s “Say So,” Billie Eilish’s “Everything I Wanted,” Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now,” Post Malone’s “Circles” and her “Savage” collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion for Record Of The Year.

Other notable nominees include James Taylor, Jon Batiste, Snarky Puppy, Fiona Apple, Grace Potter, Big Thief, Tame Impala, Michael Kiwanuka, Sturgill Simpson, The Strokes, Beck, Thundercat, Anderson .Paak, Cory Wong, Joshua Redman, Bonny Light Horseman, Norah Jones, Sierra Hull, Sarah Jarosz, Hiss Golden Messenger, Lucinda Williams, Steep Canyon Rangers, G. Love, North Mississippi Allstars, Tinariwen and Antibalas. Plus, John Prine earned two posthumous nominations and the Grateful Dead’s Giants Stadium 1987, 1989, 1991 box set is up for the Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package award.
