Snoop Dogg was on hand at the Staples Center on Saturday night for the highly-anticipated return of former Heavyweight Champion boxer Mike Tyson, who was making his comeback after a 15-year layoff with an eight round exhibition fight against former champ Roy Jones Jr. at the Los Angeles arena.
Although there were no fans in attendance, Snoop Dogg helped make up for the lack of action between fights, as he was one of the numerous hip-hop artists who performed throughout the livestreamed event. To make the night even better, Snoop was also given the honor of helping to call the fight’s play-by-play (rather, punch-by-punch) commentary, and let’s just say Bill Walton now has some competition for the best sports commentator in town.
Prior to the main event, Snoop made his way around the room while performing a medley of his hits, including “Gin & Juice”, “Drop It Like It’s Hot”, and more. Watch part of Snoop’s pre-fight performance in the videos below.

Snoop’s commentary was more the highlight of the night. At one point during the main event he was heard referring to the older Tyson and Jones as “Two of [his] uncles fighting at the barbecue!”, and added “Nah he’ll be alright, Nate’s from the hood, he’ll shake that off,” after the violent knockdown of Nate Robinson.
