Taylor Swift Announces ‘folklore the long pond studio sessions’ Film Featuring Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff & Justin Vernon

109

Cameras were rolling in September when Taylor Swift assembled the collaborators who helped her record her latest album, folklore, at Long Pond Studios in New York’s Hudson Valley. Swift teamed with Aaron Dessner of The National and Jack Antonoff to perform the 17 tracks from the LP for folklore: the long pond studio sessions, a film that premieres at midnight exclusively on Disney+.

Taylor wrote and recorded folklore while self-quarantining. Swift worked remotely with Dessner and Antonoff and had Bon Iver‘s Justin Vernon contribute to the duet “Exile,” a feat he reprises in folklore: the long pond studio sessions. The album was released in July and the sessions in September marked the first time Swift and her collaborators were able to meet in person since the folklore experience began.

“It’s an album that allows you to feel your feelings, and it’s a product of isolation,” noted Taylor Swift in the film’s trailer. “This could’ve been a time when I lost my mind, but instead this album was a real floatation device for both of us,” Swift went on to tell Dessner. “I’ve never worked on an album like this,” added Antonoff.
