The Rex Foundation has announced details for this year’s benefit concert, dubbed Ain’t No Time To Hate. The virtual fundraiser will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead‘s Workingman’s Dead and feature performances from Bob Weir & Wolf Bros.—featuring Don Was, Jay Lane, Jeff Chimenti, and Greg Leisz—Lucius, Margo Price, and more.
Set for December 12th at 7 p.m. ET, the stream will also see performances from Jackie Greene, Nicole Atkins backed by the rhythm section from Muscle Shoals Studios—the Swampers—and a special late-night set from Arrows of Neon featuring Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Reed Mathis, Jay Lane, Mookie Siegel, and special guests broadcast from Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA.
Ordinarily, the Rex Foundation gathers around this time each year at The Fillmore in San Francisco to celebrate a year of charitable efforts. Since this year has been far from ordinary, the celebration has instead moved online, which will allow even more fans to partake. Ahead of the concert, viewers can tune in to learn about Rex’s impact in 2020 with firsthand testimonials from volunteers and recipients alike. The pre-concert presentation will also host a hand-picked selection of music curated from the nine-day Daze Between virtual festival that took place earlier this summer to celebrate the life of Jerry Garcia.
Ahead of the concert and the pre-concert presentation, fans will also have the opportunity for a VIP pre-show in Trixie Garcia’s Lounge hosted by Garcia Hand Picked.

Ahead of the stream, and in honor of Giving Tuesday, the Rex Foundation will also sponsor a trivia night on Tuesday, December 1st hosted by Grateful Dead archivist and legacy manager David Lemieux. Tonight’s trivia will start at 5 p.m. PT and will be free to view and participate in on the Rex Foundation’s Facebook page. Prizes will be awarded to the top five winners and include tickets to Ain’t No Time To Hate, Grateful Dead merch from Section 119, and three-CD sets of Workingman’s Dead and American Beauty.
