Billy Strings Begins ‘String The Halls’ Series With “Think Of What You’ve Done” [Watch]

Billy Strings on Monday kicked off his String The Halls: Home For The Holidays Edition video series with a rendition of the bluegrass classic, “Think Of What You’ve Done”. Announced last week, String The Halls will see the bluegrass phenom upload a new video to YouTube every day for 12 days leading up to Christmas.

The virtual take on Strings’ annual all-star holiday concert will also serve a humanitarian purpose as it raises funds for Musically FedNashville Rescue Mission, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. During each performance—which is posted at 11 a.m. ET—Strings has hidden a code that will allow fans to purchase a limited-edition poster from Half Hazard Press commemorating the series, 120 of which are released each day. Today’s poster code is “DARLIN”.

This take on the tune first released by The Stanley Brothers and The Clinch Mountain Boys in December 1958 finds a traditional Strings and company. Donning a dapper button-down shirt and bolo tie, and shown on a black and white television set, Strings could very well be appearing on a 1960s country music variety show in this clip. Instead, it’s just the ever-rising bluegrass picker once again bridging the gap between time-honored traditions of the genre and a modern audience attracted to his improvisational prowess.

Watch Billy Strings and his eponymous band cover “Think Of What You’ve Done” for the first installment of the String The Halls: Home For The Holidays Edition video series. For your shot at a limited edition poster, hurry over to Half Hazard Press.
