Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and producer/musician Greg Kurstin unveiled the first installment of their The Hanukkah Sessions video series, a cover of Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage.” The pair’s rendition of the Beasties’ classic came out on Thursday night in celebration of the first night of Hanukkah.
Grohl and Kurstin will roll out a cover of a song by a famous Jewish artist on each night on Hanukkah, which continues through Friday, December 18. The Beastie Boys originally released “Sabotage” as the first single from their 1994 studio album, Ill Communication. Each of the group’s three members come from Jewish backgrounds.
Dave Grohl played drums and sang “Sabotage,” while Greg Kurstin added synth to the cover. Check out a note that accompanied the video:
