Galactic shared a cover of the holiday classic “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.” The track features vocalist Anjelika ‘Jelly’ Joseph.
New Orleans funk legends Galactic — drummer Stanton Moore, bassist Rob Mercurio, guitarist Jeff Raines, keyboardist Richard Vogel, saxophonist Ben Ellman and trumpeter Shamarr Allen — released a single with frequent collaborator Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph earlier this year called “Float Up.” For the new holiday single, Jelly leads the way on a funky version of “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” which the band released for New Music Friday.
“We’re ringing in December with a brand new Galactic cover of ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Town’ featuring the one and only Anjelika ‘Jelly’ Joseph,” reads a note accompanying the video. “We hope this track is able to add some funk to your holiday season.”
