Sylvan Esso released a surprise EP, WITH LOVE. The duo of multi-instrumentalist/producer Nick Sanborn and vocalist Amelia Meath were supported by the 10-piece WITH band they assembled for a tour in fall 2019.
The WITH LOVE EP was recorded during Sylvan Esso’s final installment in their three-part virtual concert series FROM THE SATELLITE that premiered last night. The EP presents expanded versions of six songs from Sylvan Esso’s 2020 album, Free Love. The auxiliary players include members of Bon Iver, Wye Oak, Hiss Golden Messenger, Mr Twin Sister, Hand Habits, and Meath’s Mountain Man bandmates.
“Getting the WITH band back together a year after our original tour (and in most cases, the last shows any of us played) was such an unexpected joy in a year where all other plans fell through,” Meath and Sandborn stated. “We are immensely grateful to everyone who worked so hard to help us make this safe and possible, and to everyone out there who listens. Thank you.”
Sylvan Esso released a live album, WITH, that was recorded during the 2019 tour and issued earlier this year. The WITH LOVE EP is available now digitally, with a limited vinyl edition available via Bandcamp on Friday, December 4
