The triple j Hottest 200 has come to a close and Middle Kids have taken out #101 with their euphorically brilliant ‘R U 4 Me?’.

After Glass Animals managed to snatch up #1 of the Hottest 100 of 2020 Middle Kids has won the second chance round. A seriously impressive placement for a song released in mid-October.

The 200 is often a day for redemption. Especially for Australia’s heavier bands.

Violent Soho and Slowly Slowly snuck two into the countdown each, while Polaris, Hands Like Houses, Stand Atlantic, and DZ Deathrays nabbed a song each.

The secondary countdown saw loads of artists back it up too. Glass Animals followed up their three in the 100 with two in the 200, ‘Dreamland’ at #136 and ‘It’s All So Incredibly Loud’ at #185.

Ball Park Music followed up their two-time placement with another two, ‘Spark Up!’ at #151 and ‘Head Like A Sieve’ at #170.
