As 2021 gets underway, the team at Saturday Night Live has announced its upcoming schedule. The long-running sketch comedy series will return to airwaves with three new episodes over the next three weeks, featuring musical guests Machine Gun Kelly, Phoebe Bridgers, and Nathaniel Rateliff.
Saturday Night Live‘s first show of the new year on January 30th will feature host John Krasinsky (The Office) and MGK serving as musical guest. The following week, on February 6th, SNL is back with another new episode featuring Dan Levy (Schitt’s Creek) alongside Bridgers. Then, on February 13th, Regina King (Watchmen) will host the show alongside musical performances from Rateliff, appearing solo.

Even as the world of live events struggles to move forward, Saturday Night Live has found a sort of equilibrium. The shows are once again taped before a live studio audience, though this audience is limited in size, dons masks the entire time, is tested prior to entry, and is comprised of first responders.
While this is the schedule that the SNL team put out for the coming weeks, it is subject to change with any health developments. Audiences will remember back in October when rising pop-country star Morgan Wallen‘s invitation to perform on the show was rescinded after videos of the 27-year-old musician partying in Alabama in crowded bars and house parties without a mask surfaced online. Jack White was then brought in as a snap substitution that week, and Wallen eventually returned in December to make up his performance and even poked fun at his own recklessness.
