Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio shared video of “A Wave Of Hope” from his “The Beacon Jams” livestream series. Anastasio was backed by Trey Anastasio Band members keyboardist Ray Paczkowski, bassist Tony Markellis, drummer Russ Lawton and percussionist Cyro Baptista for “A Wave Of Hope” at the first of eight weekly “The Beacon Jams” concerts on October 9, 2020.
Trey wrote and recorded “A Wave Of Hope” at his New York City apartment last year while self-quarantining towards the start of the pandemic. Anastasio first released “A Wave Of Hope” via an Instagram video in June. The guitarist then fit the song on his Lonely Trip album the following month. Anastasio and company’s version from October 9th was the “live” debut of “A Wave Of Hope.”
“The Beacon Jams” consisted of eight free livestream concerts originating from an empty The Beacon Theatre in New York City each Friday between October 9, 2020 and November 27, 2020. Anastasio’s performances raised over $1.2 million for the Divided Sky Fund, which will help fund an addiction rehabilitation center in Vermont.
