The creators of Truth To Power, the forthcoming documentary centering around System of a Down singer Serj Tankian, have released an extended trailer.
Garin Hovannisian will direct the Live Nation Productions and Oscilloscope Laboratories release, which focuses on Tankian’s involvement in the 2018 Armenian Revolution, his activism, and the ability for music to change the world. Set for release on February 19th, 2021, the film features cameos from producer Rick Rubin and guitarist Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine), as well as Tankian’s System of a Down bandmates.

As Tankian noted in a press release, Truth to Power marks the third time that he and Hovannisian have collaborated on a film together, including 2019’s I Am Not Alone, for which the SOAD frontman provided the score.
“He’s an absolute force of nature as a director and producer both from a creative sense and an organization-productivity sense,” said Tankian of Hovannisian. “He brought the story of TRUTH TO POWER together like no one else could.”
The trailer, which Oscilloscope Laboratories released on Friday, features music from SOAD, with press clippings and videos of the Armenian Revolution. Clips of Tankian on stage and answering questions to the press and Hovannisian are dispersed throughout, painting a clear picture of the full documentary to come.
