God Street Wine’s Lo Faber Performs ‘Bag’ Solo Livestream Concert

104

God Street Wine guitarist Lo Faber devoted his latest livestream concert to a complete performance of the band’s Bag album on Thursday night. Faber played each of the LP’s 12 tracks and then “encored” with Paul Simon’s “Still Crazy After All These Years.”

Bag, God Street Wine’s debut album, was released via the Ripe & Ready imprint in 1992. Lo started the livestream originating from New Orleans by sharing memories from the recording of the LP. He then used the same guitar, voicings and keys for “Nightingale” as he does when GSW plays the live staple. Faber’s solo Bag continued with an acoustic “Goodnight Gretchen” and electric “Feel The Pressure” before he performed “Waiting For The Tide” on piano.

Lo returned to electric guitar for “Fortress Of Solitude” and “Upside Down & Inside Out.” He then went unplugged on “Borderline” and “Better Than You.” Faber revealed the latter was the only track on Bag not recorded at the House Of Music in West Orange. Next, the guitarist played acoustic versions of “Hellfire” and “One-Armed Man” and tickled the ivories on “Home Again.” The complete Bag performance ended with a stripped down “Epilog.” It was then back to piano for the “Still Crazy After All These Years” finale.
