Today’s informative Valentine’s selection from the archives, a Robert Randolph-led rendition of Clarence Carter classic “Strokin’”, comes from the February 2020 edition of Dance Party Time Machine, the long-running celebration of history’s greatest dance party songs with fan-favorite artists from throughout the live music scene presented by J2G Live.
While Randolph steals the show with his charismatic recreation of Carter’s soulful sexual sermon, this “Strokin’” performance is truly brought to life by the heavy-hitting lineup of musicians behind him including Trey Anastasio Band’s Jennifer Hartswick and Natalie Cressman, Thievery Corporation’s Jeff Franca, Eric Low, Jonah Wisneski, Nick Gerlach, Casey Russell (Magic Beans), Jeff Prah, Adam Lufkin, Charlie Mertens, and James Dumm.
