Widespread Panic has released a live video showcasing band cover performance of Little Feat‘s “Down On The Farm” at Oak Mountain Amphitheatre. The clip comes from Widespread Panic’s April 16th, 2011 show at the Pelham, AL venue.

The video of “Down On The Farm” comes as the latest in an ever-flowing stream of archival live content from the southern rock jam band. Since unceremoniously beginning a continuous–almost daily–barrage of live videos at the start of 2021, the band has released videos from its 2002 documentary25th anniversary run of showsconcert filmsinterviewsvintage TV appearances, and more.

The April 2011 concert came as the second of what was intended to be a two-night run at Oak Mountain. Unfortunately, due to hazardous weather on April 15th, that evening’s show was moved to the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in nearby Birmingham. Those meteorological mishaps had dissipated by the 16th, however, and the show was back on the road.

Coming in just over midway through the first set, both the band and the crowd appeared primed and ready to go by the time Jimmy Herring picks out the punchy, snap-back guitar lick of “Down On The Farm”. Delivering the everlasting words of Paul Barre, frontman John Bell conveys the homespun wisdom of getting off the farm in his signature half-howl, half-growl.
