Brandi Carlile, Brittany Howard and Black Pumas were among those who performed as part of the 63rd Grammy Awards telecast on Sunday. The broadcast was hosted by Trevor Noah and took place outside of the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
A lengthy “In Memoriam” segment featured tributes to Little Richard, Kenny Rogers, John Prine and others who passed away since the last year’s Grammys telecast. Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak honored Little Richard with “Long Tall Sally” and “Good Golly Miss Molly.” Then, Lionel Richie honored Rogers with “Lady” before Carlile sang Prine’s “I Remember Everything.” Finally, Howard and Coldplay’s Chris Martin covered “You’ll Never Walk Alone” while images and videos of those we’ve lost were displayed.
