Dark Star Orchestra has announced details for its 9th annual destination festival, Jam In The Sand. Set to take place January 11th–15th, 2022, the event will see DSO return to the Jewel Paradise Cove Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica.

Presented by Island Gigs, the all-inclusive resort will allow fans to partake in a myriad of activities in addition to four nightly concerts from the premiere Grateful Dead tribute act, with two sets each night. Also on hand to provide late-night support are Melvin Seals & JGB featuring guitarist John Kadlecik.

Those who attended Jam In The Sand 8 in 2020 will be able to purchase tickets beginning on March 29th at 10 a.m. ET via a special link that will be emailed to them. The following day, those who have attended any previous Jam In The Sand will have pre-sale access beginning at 10 a.m. Finally, on March 31st the general public on-sale will begin at 10 a.m.

Organizers did not lay out any specific safety guidelines, but noted that “The festival is taking all necessary precautions for safely gathering amidst a changing COVID-19 landscape.” Given that the festival is 10 months away, organizers will likely wait until closer to the event to announce specific guidelines as the situation regarding the pandemic continues to change around the globe.
