UPDATE: DelFest Announces 2021 Lineup Additions: Railroad Earth, Béla Fleck’s ‘My Bluegrass Heart’, More

[UPDATE 4/21/21]: DelFest has added to its initial lineup with a fresh round of additions featuring Railroad Earth Béla; Fleck‘s My Bluegrass Heart featuring Michael Cleveland, Sierra Hull, Mark Schatz, and Bryan Sutton; and more.

Also tapped to join in the fun September 23rd–26th at Allegany County Fairgrounds in Cumberland, MD are Cabinet, the Seldom Scene, Hawktail, and Jacob Jolliff Band.

“We are so glad that many acts were able to move with us to this fall, and glad that more friends have agreed to join us. I feel like we’ve got a little something for everyone here, and the best news is, we aren’t quite finished yet,” Ronnie McCoury said in a statement. “I know one thing is for sure, this DelFest is going to mean more to me and my family than any of the previous ones. It’s going to be so special (and probably emotional) getting to play our second home again.”

Tickets for DelFest 2021 are officially on sale as of Wednesday at 12 p.m. ET.


[3/31/21]: DelFest has announced its return to Cumberland, MD in 2021 along with an initial lineup featuring headliners Old Crow Medicine ShowSt. Paul & The Broken BonesSam Bush, and many more. The festival will take place at its home of Allegany County Fairgrounds from September 23rd–26th, 2021.

In addition to the festival’s hosts, The Del McCoury Band and The Travelin’ McCourys, the 2021 edition of DelFest will also see performances by Leftover SalmonWatchhouse (formerly known as Mandolin Orange), The Infamous Stringdusters, The Lil Smokies, Della Mae, Cris Jacobs Band, Hot Club of Cowtown, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, The Broomestix, Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley, Steve Poltz, Sister Sadie, Lonesome River Band, Ghost of Paul Revere, Dre Anders, Twisted Pine, Fireside Collective, The Jakob’s Ferry Stragglers, Crying Uncle Bluegrass Band, Birches Band, Haint Blue, Dirty Grass Players, and The 9th Street Band. As always, Joe Craven will serve as host of the weekend’s festivities.

As per tradition, DelFest will be preceded by the three-day DelFest Academy, hosted by The Travelin’ McCourys and other luminaries who will perform at the festival. Though it typically occurs over Memorial Day weekend, DelFest has made the one-time move to late September to ensure the safety of all artists and attendees. A statement from organizers noted that—as they work with state and local health officials—specific event safety guidelines will be announced closer to the festival.

Tickets for DelFest 2021 are not yet on sale. Keep an eye on the festival’s website for coming announcements about lineup expansions and early bird ticket sales.
