George Porter Jr. And Runnin’ Pardners Announce ‘Crying For Hope’ Studio Album

73

Veteran funk bassist George Porter Jr. will release his first studio album with The Runnin’ Pardners since 2015 this Friday (3/26) with the 12-track Crying for Hope via Controlled Substance Sounds Labs/Color Red. The album will also be Porter’s first full-length studio album in a decade since Can’t Beat the Funk arrived back in 2011.

According to last week’s announcement, the tracks to be included on Crying for Hope were self-produced by the band and, for the most part, were recorded remotely between bandmembers throughout last year. The personnel lineup on the album includes Porter on bass, Terrence Houston on drums, Michael Lemmler on keyboards, and Chris Adkins on guitar.

Porter and company shared the album’s lead single/title track back in early January and followed that up with the release of “Get Back Up” on March 5th.

Crying For Hope will arrive on CD, vinyl, and digital formats, with album pre-orders now open here.

George Porter Jr.’s Runnin Pardners are scheduled to perform at the Suwannee Surprise mini-festival in Live Oak, FL over the weekend of April 16th–17th. Tickets for the event are now on sale here.
