HBO has shared the first trailer for its forthcoming documentary about rock and roll singer Tina Turner, which is scheduled to premiere on HBO and HBO Max later this month on March 27th.

First announced last month, the film will include new interviews with Tuner herself, in addition to interviews with Angela Bassett (who received an Academy Award nomination for her portrayal of Tuner in the 1994 biopic What’s Love Got to Do with It), her current husband/former record executive Erwin BachOprah Winfrey, and more.

The first trailer highlights Turner’s start in show business alongside her former husband Ike Turner, their turbulent and abusive relationship, and her second act as a major pop star in the 1980s and 90s following her divorce from Turner.

“It hurts to have to remember those times,” Turner’s voice is heard saying in regards to her personal struggles towards the end of the trailer. “But at a certain stage, forgiveness takes over.”
