The String Cheese Incident selected their April 13, 2003 concert from Shibuya Ax in Tokyo for the next Friday Night Cheese. The show will air on Friday, April 2 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT via nugs.net.
The second of two concerts at Shibuya Ax, the April 13 Incident marked the culmination of a four-show Japanese run in 2003. SCI’s first appearance in Japan was at the Fuji Rock Festival on July 27, 2002, as per Friends Of Cheese. Their last appearance in Japan took place at the Fuji Rock Fest on July 29, 2006. The band mentioned a bit of their history in Japan in the Facebook post announcing FNC.
“We’ve played 17 Incidents in Japan, including two appearances at Fuji Rock Festival in Niigata,” they wrote, “and we are forever grateful for our Japanese fans and the love they have shown us over the years.”
