On June 30, 1990, Pink Floyd played a set at Knebworth House in Knebworth, England that included a guest appearance from Clare Torry on “The Great Gig In The Sky.” Pink Floyd shared video featuring Torry reprising her role from The Dark Side Of The Moon to preview Live At Knebworth 1990, live archival audio due out as a standalone release for the first time on April 30 through Warner Music.
Pink Floyd performed a seven-song set at Knebworth in 1990 as part of an all-star The Silver Clef Award Winners Concert benefitting the Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Charity. Audio of the set was previously only available via its inclusion in Pink Floyd’s The Later Years box set. Paul McCartney, Elton John and Genesis were just a few of the other artists who played Knebworth on June 30, 1990.
Clare Torry’s vocals are at the heart of “The Great Gig In The Sky,” a song Pink Floyd initially released on their iconic 1973 studio album, The Dark Side Of The Moon. Torry joined the band at Knebworth to sing “Great Gig” early on in the Knebworth set.
