Billy Strings was back at the Ladd–Peebles Stadium on Saturday for the second show as part of a three-night outdoor run at the Mobile, Alabama football stadium to close out his spring tour this weekend.

Strings and his band opened Saturday’s show with the original “Hollow Heart” before diving into his live debut cover of Bob Dylan‘s “Tangled Up In Blue”. A cover of The Doc Watson Family‘s “Salt Creek” followed before Strings returned to his own songbook with performances of “She’s In The Meadow”, “Watch It Fall”, “Bronzeback”, and “Must Be Seven”. The first set also included some choice covers of Grateful Dead‘s “China Doll”, the traditional “Raleigh and Spencer”, The Stanley Brothers‘ “White Dove”, and The Doc Watson Family‘s “And Am I Born to Die?”

Check out some of the first set covers from Saturday’s show in the fan-shot videos below.

Strings and his band returned to the stage to open the second half of the show with another original in “Dust in a Baggie”, which moved right into a take on the traditional “Reuben’s Train” followed by more originals in “Running the Route”, “So Many Miles”, “Love Like Me”, and “Know It All”.

The second half of set two contained more covers with the band’s renditions of “Dark Hollow”, “Whisper My Name”, and “Wild Bill Jones” before Strings brought the night to a close with one of his newer originals in “Hide & Seek”.

Strings will return for the third and final night of his Mobile run on Sunday. Click here for concert webcast information.
