Phish’s Page McConnell Solo & More Spotify Playlist

72

Phish keyboardist Page McConnell yesterday released, Maybe We’re The Visitors, which was his third solo album. While McConnell has largely focused on his contributions to Phish, his credits over the years as a solo artist and guest musician make for an increasingly eclectic and impressive body of work. This edition of Saturday Stream highlights Page’s recordings made outside of Phish.

Maybe We’re The Visitors followed 2013’s Unsung Cities And Movies Never Made and McConnell’s 2007 self-titled solo debut LP. In addition to those records issued under his own name, McConnell has put out three albums with his side project Vida Blue that features bassist Oteil Burbridge and drummer Russell Batiste. The trio’s self-titled debut album arrived in 2002, followed by 2003’s The Illustrated Band with the Spam Allstars and 2019’s Crossing Lines.

McConnell and his Phish bandmate, guitarist Trey Anastasio, recorded and released the aptly titled six-song collection December in the final month of last year. In addition to those albums, McConnell has also appeared as a guest on solo albums by Anastasio and Phish bassist Mike Gordon.

McConnell’s studio work further includes guest appearances on records by Widespread Panic, Gov’t Mule, Tenacious D, Guster, Travis, Gordon Stone, Lambsbread and Electric Beethoven. Listen to the Spotify Playlist featuring Phish’s Page McConnell below:
