Spafford Announces Free Livestream Ahead Of Return To The Stage

59

Spafford will go live on Friday, April 9th for a free livestream at 9 p.m. ET, the band announced on Thursday. The stream comes ahead of the Arizona-bred quartet’s return to ticketed performances next weekend at The Marquee Theatre Backyard in Tempe, AZ April 20th and 21st.

Airing on Spafford’s Facebook and YouTube pages, the livestream will come as the band steadily gets back in gear after months of lying dormant. Fans of the band were greeted with an April Fool’s Day joke earlier this month as Spafford teased the addition of a new member. Going live for a brief stream on April 1st, Spafford revealed that Mike Allen—noted proprietor of the @jambandworkout Instagram account—would be their newest member. It was all just a joke, though Allen did join in on a spirited rendition of “The Reprise“.

The upcoming shows at The Marquee Backyard were originally designed to serve as the band’s two-night run of New Year’s Eve concerts. In the weeks leading up to the shows, however, Spafford decided to postpone the concerts in the interest of public safety as COVID-19 cases continued to rise and vaccines just began to trickle out. Now, with millions of vaccines being distributed per day, the show is back on as Spafford prepares to take the stage for a pair of pod concerts outside The Marquee. This will mark Spafford’s first performance before a ticketed audience since May 24th, 2020 at the Digital Drive-In in Mesa, AZ. Tickets for both concerts are still available on the band’s website.

Tune in to the free Spafford livestream tomorrow via the band’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
