Tennessee Titans Launch Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires KultureCity Sensory Room At Nissan Stadium

66

The Tennessee Titans and sensory accessibility organization KultureCity detailed the launch of a sensory room at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium. The Isbell-Shires KultureCity sensory room is named after lead sponsors and husband and wife musicians Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires.

The Isbell-Shires KultureCity sensory room is the first of its kind in a Nashville sports venue. Individuals with autism, dementia, PTSD and other similar conditions often experience sensory sensitivities or challenges with sensory regulation. Overstimulation and noise, something found in abundance at a major sports venue, is often a barrier to those affected by the aforementioned conditions.

The Isbell-Shires KultureCity sensory room, designed by medical professionals and located in the north endzone of Nissan Stadium, provides a quieter and more secure environment for those who need one. The room features “bean bags from Yogibo, the visual light panels by Nanoleaf, activity panels, bubble walls, and a custom tactile artwork created by an autistic artist,” as per a press release.

“Amanda and I are happy to work alongside KultureCity to encourage acceptance and inclusion in public spaces like sporting events and businesses,” Isbell said in a statement. “Individuals with autism and specific sensory needs and their families should feel welcome wherever they go. The work of the KultureCity family is making that possible.”
