Spoon To Launch 2021 National Tour With Two Intimate Shows At Aspen, CO’s Belly Up

97

On September 4th and 5th, 2021, acclaimed indie-rockers Spoon will kickstart their first tour since 2019 with a run of shows at Aspen, CO’s Belly Up featuring support from Nicole Atkins.

Coming at the beginning of a multi-week run of clubs and theaters across the country, Spoon’s performances at the 450-capacity Belly Up will mark some of the most intimate shows on the tour.

The up-close-and-personal performances at the Belly Up will be a stark change from Spoon’s last run of tour dates—a massive amphitheater tour alongside Beck and Cage The Elephant in 2019. Around that time, guitarist/frontman Britt Daniel collaborated with Fender to release the Britt Daniel Signature Telecaster Thinline as part of their artist signature electric guitar series, highlighting the enduring influence of Daniel’s precision-punk style.

Some of most esteemed contemporary rock ambassadors Texas has to offer, Spoon have released nine albums during their nearly thirty-year run including a string of four straight top 10 albums: Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga (2007), Transference (2010) They Want My Soul (2014), and Hot Thoughts (2017). Hailed by TIME as “one of the greatest American rock bands”, Spoon also topped Metacritic’s chart as the single most critically acclaimed band of the aughts.

Nicole Atkins has also gained her fair share of steam in recent years. She recently performed a set at The Peach Music Festival in Scranton, PA. Last year, she took part in a number of online events including hosting a virtual The Last Waltz celebration.

Tickets to see Spoon at Belly Up Aspen with Nicole Atkins on 9/4 and 9/5 are on sale here.
