The Black Crowes continued their Shake Your Money Maker 30th anniversary tour on Saturday at Bank Of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire. The band would dust off “Sometimes Salvation” for the first time in nearly eight years.
The Black Crowes lineup consisted of frontman Chris Robinson, guitarist Rich Robinson, bassist Sven Pipien, guitarist Isaiah Mitchell, keyboardist Joel Robinow and drummer Brian Griffin. The tour features a complete performance of Shake Your Money Maker, the band’s 1990 debut album of the same, name to kick off the set.
The “other hits” portion of the evening got going with “No Speak No Slave” from 1992’s The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion. Up next, “Kickin’ My Heart Around” off 1999’s By Your Side and a return to Southern Harmony with “Sting Me” and the aforementioned “Sometimes Salvation.”
“Sometimes Salvation” was last played on December 14, 2013 in San Francisco, as per SetlistFM. That show was the finale of the band’s last extensive tour. The favorites “Wiser Time,” “Thorn In My Pride,” “Soul Singing” and “Remedy” closed out the set. The Black Crowes then delivered The Rolling Stones’ “It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll (But I Like It)” for the encore.
