Melbourne’s masters of curating vibes, Client Liaison have taken on this week’s Like A Version on triple j. With most of the country deep in the Delta blues, they’ve delivered exactly what we need.
They’ve taken on 1990 hit, ‘Groove Is In The Heart’ by Deee-Lite. It’s so much fun, with Monte Morgan’s iconic dance moves and Harvey Miller’s manipulation of sounds.
They keep it just true enough to the original that you still get all those expected dopamine hits that come with the original. But they make it their own with their own original sounds and synths and it’s a whole ass vibe.
“I feel like this song is in our DNA,” says Monte in their Behind the Like A Version.
“I couldn’t tell if this song was from the 70s, 80s, or 90s. It had this sort of timeless nature to it,” says Harvey.
We were blessed with a performance of their own song too. They performed ‘Elevator Up’ which is just the exact energy we all need right now.
It’s so much fun.
