Margo Price Debuts Rolling Stones Cover At Railbird Festival

144

Margo Price delivered a set at Railbird Festival in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday. The singer-songwriter debuted a cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Dead Flowers.”

Margo got her set underway with “Twinkle Twinkle” off her 2020 album That’s How Rumors Get Started ahead of a tune, “Tennessee Song,” from her 2016 debut album, Midwest Farmer’s Daughter. That’s How Rumors Get Started’s “Letting Me Down” followed before “Nowhere Fast” off 2017’s All American Made.

After “Four Years Of Chances,” Price offered up her debut, as per SetlisFM, of “Dead Flowers.” The song is off The Rolling Stones’ landmark 1971 album Sticky Fingers. Margo delivered a powerful vocal performance on the country-tinged Stones classic. Price’s cover of “Dead Flowers” came less than a week after the death of Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts and Margo said “ We love you Charlie!” at the song’s conclusion.

Price continued her set with “Stone Me” and a song from another legendary British band with The Beatles “Hel!” The title track to That’s How Rumors Get Started followed ahead of “Cocaine Cowboys” and “Heatless Mind.” Margo Price closed out her set at Railbird with All American Made’s “A Little Pain.”
