56

Keyboardist DeShawn Alexander was Tedeschi Trucks‘ special guest on Sunday night at Dillon Amphitheater in Dillon, Colorado. “DVibes” joined the truncated Tedeschi Trucks Band lineup for the second set closer as part of their Fireside Live concert in Dillon.

Guitarists Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks led a lineup featuring keyboardist Gabe Dixon, bassist Brandon Boone, drummer Tyler Greenwell and vocalist Mike Mattison on Sunday. Tedeschi Trucks opened with a take on Junior Wells’ “Little By Little” and then played originals “Don’t Know What It Means,” “Do I Look Worried,” “Whiskey Legs” and “When Will I Begin.”

Next, Mattison stepped into the spotlight for his own “Life Is Crazy” before Tedeschi Trucks ended the frame with covers of Four Tops’ “Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever” and Derek And The Dominos’ “Anyday.” Sunday’s second set began with a pair of title tracks as “Made Up Mind” was followed by “Signs, High Times.” From there, Susan led the group on a gorgeous rendition of Willie Nelson’s “Somebody Pick Up My Pieces” before Tedeschi Trucks played their recently debuted cover of Bessie Smith’s “Gin House Blues.”

“Part Of Me” came next along with covers of Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” and Elmore James’ “The Sky Is Crying.” Alexander emerged towards the end of “I Want More” for the coda of “Soul Sacrifice” by Santana. Tedeschi then introduced the former Marcus King Band keyboardist and noted he’s a native of Colorado, praised the rest of the band and thanked the audience for coming. For the encore, Derek shined on a breathtaking “Midnight In Harlem” before the band said farewell with “Get What You Deserve.”
