The Bluesfest 2022 Lineup Just Got Even Bigger, With “Amazing Headliners” Still TBA

64

COVID has definitely had fans keen to spend a week soaking up the soundwaves at Byron Bay’s Bluesfest.

But organisers are making sure the twice-rescheduled event is well worth the wait, adding another six huge artists to the already supersized lineup.

The Teskey Brothers, Missy Higgins and Diesel, plus New Zealanders L.A.B, rockabilly-punks 19-Twenty and soul-rockers Fools have been added to the bill, which already features the likes of Midnight Oil, Paul Kelly, Jimmy Barnes and loads more.

Bluesfest had originally been rescheduled for October after its shock forced last-minute cancellation back in April, but organisers recently made the tough decision to scrap it as most of the country was plunged into extended lockdowns. It’s now been relocated to its normal Easter dates in 2022.

We’ve been promised almost all the October 2021 artists will return (as The Music Network reports, it seems The Cat Empire, Ocean Alley, Tash Sultana and Ziggy Alberts will be missing) while they’ve also added a few extra new names, including Fat Freddy’s Drop, Josh Teskey & Ash Grunwald, John Williamson, C.W. Stoneking, and Rockwiz Live, in addition to the fresh six listed above.

Festival boss Peter Noble is also promising “some amazing headliners” still to be announced, and is pleading with punters to keep the faith and hold onto their tickets.

“It’s going to be a celebration like no other when we all come together finally, for the greatest healing when Live Music comes back,” Noble says.

“For those who are concerned about refunds – they will be available from 8th September through Moshtix. However, I can assure you that you can hold on to your tickets safe in the knowledge that, once all the artists have been announced, you will still have plenty of time to decide whether you wish to attend. Trust me though, this is the best lineup of Aussie and Kiwi talent …. EVER!

“You won’t be asking for a refund – you’ll be asking for more tickets.”

We’ll keep you posted with more lineup news as it develops!
