‘Austin City Limits’ Initial Season 47 Lineup: Billy Strings, Khruangbin, Brittany Howard & More

Austin City Limits producers confirmed the show’s initial Season 47 lineup. Billy Strings, Khruangbin and Brittany Howard are among the artists that will be featured in episodes the of the iconic live music television series this fall.

Installments were filmed at the program’s Austin studios this year in front of limited live audiences despite challenging conditions. The initial lineup includes a mix of ACL vets and newcomers. Austin City Limits airs weekly nationwide on PBS (check local listings) with full episodes made available online after the initial broadcasts.

Miranda Lambert will team with Jack Ingram and Jon Randall to focus on material from their The Marfa Tapes album on the season opener, set for broadcast on October 2 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT. Next, Jade Bird and Dayglow make their ACL debuts in sharing an hour scheduled to air on October 9 before Jon Batiste leads an 18-piece band for an episode due to premiere on October 16.

Singer-songwriter Sarah Jarosz returns for her third ACL appearance and jamgrass act Billy Strings performs with his band in making their debut on the show for a split-hour to air on October 23. Brandy Clark and Charley Crockett each perform as part of the episode on October 30 with Texas-based performers Khruangbin and Leon Bridges set to appear on November 6.

Jackson Browne‘s first Austin City Limits performance in nearly 20 years airs on November 13. Then, Brittany Howard makes her solo debut on the program’s November 20th episode. Five more installments from Season 47 will be broadcast early next year with an announcement of the full lineup coming at a later date.
