John Zorn, Kim Gordon and Animal Collective are among the acts on Big Ears Festival’s 2022 lineup. The event returns to downtown Knoxville March 24 – 27, 2022.
Moses Sumney, Meredith Monk, Sparks, Yves Tumor, Low, Annette Peacock, Kronos Quartet, Sons of Kemet, Jason Moran and Bill Callahan are more of those slated to play Big Ears next March. Other performers include Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Marc Ribot, Bill Frisell, Mdou Moctar, Bang On A Can All Stars and Georgia Anne Muldrow.
Zorn will present a total of eight performances over the course of the festival. Included among them is a “heavy metal” Hammond B-3 organ trio led by John Medeski; a guitar trio featuring Frisell, Julian Lage and Gyan Riley and the New Masada Quartet.
All told, Big Ears 2022 will include over 100 concerts from a wide array of artists spanning many genres. Weekend passes go on sale this Thursday, September 16 at 12 p.m. ET via Front Gate Tickets.
