Dinosaur Jr. postponed the first leg of their fall tour due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations driven by the Delta variant. Shows from September 10 – October 2 have been shelved with the rescheduled dates not yet announced.

“I’m really bummed that we’re not playing these shows. I miss touring and miss all of you,” frontman J Mascis wrote in a statement from the band. “I’m grateful for your understanding, and I hope all of you are able to stay safe.”

The renowned trio, “intends to proceed with the November 2021 and all 2022 dates as planned” as they “hope that conditions improve in the coming weeks.” Ticketholders who do not want to wait for the rescheduled dates are advised to contact the point of purchase to obtain refunds.

Dinosaur Jr.’s tour comes in support of Sweep It Into Space, a studio album released on April 23. Mascis co-produced the 12-track effort with Kurt Vile.
