Budjerah, the rising 19-year-old Coodjinburra singer/songwriter who released his debut EP earlier this year, is set to take on the US with a new partnership between Warner Music Australia and Warner Records in the States. The Matt Corby-backed artist’s debut release for the label is set to arrive sometime this month.

“It’s really amazing to be working with Warner Records,” Budjerah commented in a statement. “I’m really grateful for the opportunity they’ve given me to reach more people with my music and I’m even more excited for what’s to come!”

Warner Music Australasia president Dan Rosen said he was “thrilled” to partner with the Warner Records team to help develop Budjerah’s career in the US. “I know they can take him to a global audience. Budjerah is destined for big things and we cannot wait to see him take the next step in his career.”

Warner’s US counterparts echoed Rosen’s sentiments, calling Budjerah “truly one of a kind” and saying they “look forward to introducing his incredible voice and talent to music lovers in America.”

Budjerah has already had a pretty massive year thus far. He was nominated for New Artist of the Year in this year’s National Indigenous Music Awards, has performed at the Sydney Opera House, and teamed up with Pnau on their collaborative single ‘Stranger Love’.

Budjerah also recently released Live from Rainbow Valley, which reimagined his debut EP live and opened it up for collaborations – Corby, Ngaiire, Ainslie Wills, Stevan and JK-47 all jumping onboard as well.
