The Slip Announces First Tour In A Decade

113

Recently reunited trio The Slip has announced a six-date tour of the Northeast set for November. The November 11th—20th run of shows will mark the band’s first tour since 2011.

Consisting of guitarist Brad Barr, bassist Marc Friedman, and drummer Andrew Barr, The Slip will begin its tour on November 11th at Burlington, VT’s Higher Ground. The run then travels to Fete Music Hall in Providence, RI (11/12); The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA (11/13); followed by a two-night run at Brooklyn Bowl (11/18, 11/19). Finally, the tour wraps on November 20th at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, NY.

The band simply wrote along with the announcement, “Yup, we’re doing it!”

The Slip has not staged a public headlining performance since 2011, after which time the members parted ways. Sporadic appearances followed, including a set at High Sierra Music Festival in 2015 and a performance at the JamBase 20th anniversary private party in 2019. The band was included on the originally announced lineup for the 2020 Peach Music Festival, but did not transition over to the 2021 lineup. Most recently, the Barr brothers reconvened with Friedman for three nights of performances at the Joe Russo’s Almost Dead-curated festival at the LOCKN’ Farm last month.
