Aussie Artists Take On Snoop Dogg’s Menulog Track For New Ad

76

M.E.N.U.  L-O-G. Did somebody say…Menulog?

It’s the hook, delivered by a technicolor coat-clad Snoop Dogg, that’s been nigh impossible to avoid lately, reminding TV / YouTube viewers that Menulog is the gangsta option when it comes to getting food delivered to your door.

Indeed, the pandemic has become a battle royale of sorts between the delivery service’s little ditty and KFC’s hijacking of Icona Pop’s ‘I Love It’ for media domination,

Now though it seems like Menulog may have delivered a decisive blow, with the Australian company recruiting  Baker Boy, Big Twisty, D’Arcy Spiller, and Kirsten Salty to produce a cover of the song – a commercial Like A Version of sorts.

The one-minute video sees’ the artists rapping about some of their choice dishes available on the ever-expanding menu, with the orange Cadillac Lowrider making an appearance, in addition to all manner of vintage ’70s fashion.  Check it out below.

Created by the Mushroom Group’s own in-house agency, Mushroom Creative House, with in-demand producer Jerome Farah, it’s a welcome boost for Aussie musicians after the lack of home-grown talent on the Tokyo Olympics soundtrack drew criticism earlier this year.

The local take on the ad will air on screens from this Sunday – so expect to be hearing the iconic hook a whole lot more in the coming days and weeks.

“I’m pumped to be working with Menulog and Mushroom and get to re-write my own version of the Snoop track,” said Baker Boy in a statement.

“It was really fun getting to add my own flavour and throw in a nod to some of my favorite bush tucker.

“It’s been such a rough time for the industry, so it just feels so good to have this opportunity to create something really special!”
