Coldplay Announces World Tour 2022

163

Coldplay is set to embark on a 2022 world tour around their new album, Music Of The Spheres, due out tomorrow. The Music Of The Spheres World Tour gets underway on March 18 with the band’s first concert in Costa Rica and will stretch into September with support from H.E.R. for most of the tour.

Coldplay also detailed “a comprehensive set of sustainability initiatives and environmental commitments, including one tree planted for every ticket sold and a show powered by 100% renewable energy,” as per Coldplay’s website. Read a note from the band below:

Playing live and finding connection with people is ultimately why we exist as a band. We’ve been planning this tour for years, and we’re super excited to play songs from across our whole time together.

At the same time, we’re very conscious that the planet is facing a climate crisis. So we’ve spent the last two years consulting with environmental experts to make this tour as sustainable as possible, and, just as importantly, to harness the tour’s potential to push things forward. We won’t get everything right, but we’re committed to doing everything we can and sharing what we learn. It’s a work in progress and we’re really grateful for the help we’ve had so far.

If you’d like to come to a show and sing with us, we’re so excited to see you.

Following The Music Of The Spheres World Tour kick-off in San Jose, the band will hit Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic before heading through Mexico including Monterrey and Guadalajara to close out March and culminating in a concert in Mexico City on April 2 ahead of the U.S. leg of the tour.

Coldplay’s American jaunt includes the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Texas and Chicago in May. The quartet comes to the Eastern U.S. in June with dates in Washington D.C., the New York City area, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Tampa.

July and August will see the band throughout Europe and their native UK including two-night stands in Frankfurt, Berlin, Paris and Brussels. The European leg will culminate with a three-night run in London ahead of a concert in Glasgow, Scotland. An appearance at Rio de Janeiro’s Rock in Rio Festival on September 10 will conclude the announced dates although Coldplay has teased more shows to be announced.
