Terrapin Crossroads staged its final concert on Sunday, a three-set affair that finished with a fitting “Ripple”. The San Rafael, CA venue owned and operated by Phil and Jill Lesh hosted a charity garage sale/concert on Saturday and Sunday, signaling the end of the venue/restaurant’s nearly decade-long run.

The band for Terrapin Station’s Last Waltz consisted of familiar faces from the Grateful Dead bassist’s haunt, including Stu Allen, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Reed Mathis, Mookie Siegel, and Scott Guberman, the latter of whom joined the group sporadically throughout the show. Stu Allen & Mars Hotel performed what was Terrapin Station’s final ticketed concert on October 31st, shortly before the Leshes announced its closure.

The laid-back Sunday set featured its share of Dead originals including “Just A Little Light”, “Operator”, “Comes A Time”, and the show-closing “Ripple”. Just as the musical sphere of Terrapin Station went well beyond the skull and roses, so did Sunday’s setlist. The ensemble tackled selections from Kris Kristofferson, Jimmy CliffPaul SimonTom Petty, and more, including a roaring “Baby Let Me Follow You Down” that saw parallels to Bob Dylan‘s fiery rendition from The Last Waltz. The show stopper, both literally and figuratively, came with the “Ripple” encore that effectively closed Terrapin Crossroads.

Watch Stu Allen, Lebo, Reed Mathis, Mookie Siegel, and Scott Guberman bid fare thee well to Terrapin Crossroads with “Ripple”.
