Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe canceled their upcoming New Year’s Run of concerts in the Southeast as cases of COVID-19 continue to surge. “The safety of our fans, band, crew and their families is our first priority, and while we want to celebrate with you, we need to be sure we are doing so safely,” wrote KDTU in an announcement of the decision on the band’s social feeds.

Denson, who celebrates his birthday today, was scheduled to start the run with his band this Wednesday, December 29 at The Charleston Pour House in Charleston, South Carolina. Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe was then slated to play Atlanta’s Terminal West on December 30 before performing a New Year’s Eve concert at District Live in Savannah, Georgia on December 31 and a New Year’s Day concert on January 1 at Asheville’s Salvage Station.

Tickets for each show will be refunded at the point of purchase. Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe are aiming to perform in Charleston, Atlanta, Savannah and Asheville in 2022.
