The evolution of The Wiggles into a full-blown contemporary musical machine has continued, with the group this week announcing a covers album, stacked full of special guests.
Titled ReWiggled, the album features such favorites as Stella Donnelly (covering ‘Ba Ba Da Bicycle Ride’), DZ Deathrays (‘Hot Potato’), and Spacey Jane (‘D.O.R.O.T.H.Y’), in what promises to be a celebration of Aussie rockers covering their favorite tunes from their childhood.
Side B of the record turns the tables, with The Wiggles themselves covering the likes of AC/DC, Tame Impala (obviously), and Rihanna among others.
“It’s been really enjoyable, and also so humbling, hearing all these wonderful artists doing their versions of Wiggles songs – they’re all so very talented,” said Blue Wiggle Anthony Field on the album.
The LP will feature members of the group both past and present and will carry over some of the songs already released earlier this year on the ReWiggled EP. Check out their take on The Chats classic ‘Pub Feed’ below to get yourself in the mood. ReWiggled drops March 11.
